Marie Ann (Mondi) Matarazzo died peacefully at home in the company of her loving family. She was 77.
Born and raised in Medford, Marie was the daughter of the late Candeloro and Sarah (Ladonne) Mondi. A devoted wife and mother, Marie married her high school sweetheart and raised her family. She and Bill enjoyed their time together and traveled frequently with family and friends. For nearly 40 years Marie shared her motherly gifts with Medford children as a lunch mother in Medford Schools. She loved the kids she watched over and was affectionately called “Mrs. M” by generations of devoted students.
The beloved wife of William Matarazzo, Marie was a devoted mother to Deborah Amaral and her husband Rui of Winthrop, Janice DePace and her husband Frank of Medford, William “Billy” Matarazzo and his wife Katy of Methuen. A loving grandmother to Sarah and Pete Sheffield, Alissa Amaral, Frankie and Joey DePace, Michelle and Samantha Matarazzo, she was a dear sister to the late Domenic Mondi and sister-in-law of Celia Mondi of FL.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, August 6th at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
